Home sweet home

We finally found our dream home! So expect a change of address soon ... again, but the last for a while (promise). It's at the foot of the Dandenong Ranges, in an area known as 'horse country'. A bit more basic and smaller than our current rental unit but the garden is no joke: 2000 m2.
We haven't bought the chooks with it but we did inherit a 'ride-on' mower. We'll be race-cutting the grass. But we don't as yet rule out an additional grass-eater as well. For our convenience there is a lemon tree next to the Barbie.
It's not connected to the mains water and sewerage so pretty rural. No gas either by the way. We do have electricity and phone connection though (well, we hope ...). It's in line with Peter's main spec too: you can only get to it by dirt road.

Annet started as 'technical writer' at MoTeC. Now she is racing for a change...

We're already learning some 'everyday-australian'. Watch this:
- 'it's pretty average' means 'it's rubbish'
- 'it's rather ordinairy' stands for 'it's rubbish'
(showing their ancestory, definitely more Poms than Yanks)
- our new garden is 'ginormous'
- everything is abbreviated: 'cab sav' is cabernet sauvignon, a 'servo' is a service station, an 'avo' is an afternoon, 'bathers' is a bathing suit, 'sunnies' are sunglasses, 'brekkie' is breakfast.

In the end we haven't quite managed yet to make sense of the local soap, too much slang and too fast.
